Assists veterans, survivors and dependents of veterans.

Description:

The San Mateo County Veterans Services Office was established in 1946 by the County Board of Supervisors to assist military veterans and their families’ access VA benefits in a compassionate and professional manner. A Veteran is a person who served in active military, naval or air service (including Guard and Reserves personnel), regardless whether you saw combat or not. Eligibility also includes services in the U.S. Merchant Marine between 12/7/1941 and 12/31/1946. Today, the County of San Mateo Human Services Agency continues to provide free of charge services to veterans and their families. The County Veterans Services Officer and Representatives are trained by accredited staff of the Office of the General Counsel of the United Stated Department of Veterans Affairs on the benefits available to veterans. The staff at the CVSO can help you and your family submit claims for benefits to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Service Description:

Established in 1946, the San Mateo County Veterans Services Office (CVSO) helps veterans access state and federal benefits that help veterans, their spouses and family members.The CVSO also provides information and referrals to a wide range of services and connects veterans to programs such as the California Veteran College Fee Waiver for veterans and dependents.
