San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District
Description:
Originally founded to provide mosquito surveillance and control, SMCMVCD expanded over the years to provide rodent inspections, yellowjacket nest removal, insect and tick identification, tick surveillance, and vector-borne disease surveillance. District staff act under the authority of the California Health and Safety Code. The District is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The trustees are appointed by the town and city councils within the district (the County Board of Supervisors appoints one at-large member). Meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month at 6 pm, 1351 Rollins Road, Burlingame. Formerly known as San Mateo County Mosquito Abatement District.Location

Service Description:
The District provides control for ground nesting yellowjackets when the location of the nest is known. A yellowjacket nest site looks like a small hole in the ground with many yellowjackets flying in and out. Without disturbing the nest, mark its location with a flag or other object so that the technician who comes to treat it will be able to find it.Fees:
