AIDS Community Research Consortium (ACRC)
Description:
Provides educational programs for those living with HIV, Hepatitis C or active drug users who live in the San Mateo County area. ACRC HIV Living Now Program is an educational program that focuses on those in the community that are infected with the HIV virus. Provides education on how to take better care by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, taking medication as prescribed, eating properly and living with this disease. The program is taught in English and Spanish. ACRC HCV Living Now is an educational program that does the same for hepatitis C clients that the HIV Living Now Program does for HIV. ACRC prevention programs provides safe alternatives for individuals such as condoms to help reduce the spread of HIV/HepC and other sexually transmitted diseases (STD). ACRC Food Program provides groceries for individuals each week in order to maintain healthy eating habits for those living with HIV.Location
