Description:
A local chapter in a nationwide network of Alzheimer's Association chapters. Services include information, support, education and training, respite grants for families, advocacy and research for people afflicted with Alzheimer's and related disorders. Also provides financial support for medical research. In the Bay Area, free support groups may include a professional speaker with an open period for questions and answers. Support groups for persons in the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease are available, as well as groups serving the Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese communities. A 24-hour helpline provides information and links families who need assistance with local services and support groups.
