Description:

Licenses all health facilities in the service area that fall under the specifications of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Division 5. Provides certification of all Medicare/Medi-Cal facilities under specifications of the Federal Code of Regulations. Facilities include general acute care hospitals, acute psychiatric hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (nursing homes), intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled, clinics and home health agencies. Provides information on facilities and regulations on request. There is a public file of deficiency notices on individual facilities licensed through this office which can be reviewed in person daily. Persons wishing to file a complaint may call the Nursing Home Complaint Hotline. Formerly known as California State Department of Health Services.
