Canine Companions for Independence (CCI)
Description:
Trains specially bred dogs to assist people with disabilities to live more independent lives. Service dogs aid people who are physically challenged and hearing dogs alert deaf or hard-of-hearing persons to crucial daily sounds. Skilled companion dogs work with children, facility dogs, work in institutions as part of a therapy program. Publishes a newsletter, "The Companion".Location
