Description:
The city of East Palo Alto and the County of San Mateo created and are funding the Reentry Program to assist residents returning home from prison or jail with their reintegration back into the community.The David Lewis center is the nerve center of the program. The program consists of three components. It provides the following services: 1)-Case Management: Assessment to determine needs and skills, referrals and support to other services as needed such as general assistance, medical care, housing, jobtrain, etc. -Resume development and job search assistance -Support groups -Social activities -Classes in Personal development, life skills, healthy lifestyles, and basic computer skills. 2)-JobTrain: provides classes in GED prep, life skills, job readiness, computer operation and vocational training. 3)-If you are classified as ab109, 1170h or unified reentry by your probation officer, you may be eligible for other services as well. In order to participate in the program, potential clients must be residents of East Palo Alto or the Belle Haven area.Location
