Description:

The 19 committee members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors from various related agencies and the general public. The committee annually reviews all phases of emergency medical services including 9-1-1 medical dispatch, fire service first response, ambulance transportation and hospital emergency departments. A disaster subcommittee works with the Area Disaster Office to develop appropriate response protocols. Prepares and submits specific reports requested by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and presents recommendations to the Board of Supervisors to improve emergency care. This committee also responds to complaints regarding emergency medical care in this county and can initiate remedial action. Meetings are open to the public, held on the fourth Wednesday of every other month, 12 noon, at San Mateo County Health Services Agency, Room 101, 225 - 37th Avenue, San Mateo.
