Advocates for and educates the citizens and community organizations of San Mateo County on the long-term benefits of preserving and expanding the supply of accessible and affordable workforce housing in the county. Membership is open to all organizations addressing the housing need in the county, especially local agencies that provide housing and supportive services to individuals and families who are priced out of the county's housing market. The Housing Leadership Council is also the contact for the Housing Endowment And Regional Trust (HEART) of San Mateo County. HEART is a membership-based JPA (Joint Powers Authority) whose mission is to raise funds from public and private sources to meet critical housing needs in San Mateo County.
