Description:Resolves complaints brought by consumers against commercial enterprises. The program also attempts to answer questions brought by consumers. All contact with the bureau is via telephone though it will not act upon a complaint until a consumer submits it in writing. Written complaints must be accompanied by supportive documentation such as copies of receipts, contracts, billings, cancelled checks, misleading advertising, statements, or endorsements. The bureau does not handle legal or medical problems or employer/employee disputes.
