General reference, print and audiovisual materials for all ages are available along with community programs and services including laptops/WiFi hotspots, family development classes, and free meals for youth.

Description:

Offers general reference services and library collections for all ages including fiction, graphic novels and nonfiction books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, large-print books, Books on CD, Spanish language books and magazines. Online databases linked through the library's Web site offer downloadable audio books, electronic books and access to full-text magazine and newspaper articles. Wireless Internet access (WiFi) is freely available inside the library in addition to public access computers with high-speed Internet access, and the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Computer classes are available by appointment. WiFi hotspot, laptop/hotspot combos, eReaders are available for check-out along with 3D printer services. The Library also features a Seed Library developed from a partnership with Collective Roots. Guitars are available for check-out. Free meals are available at the library for youth. Legal aid is available through the Lawyers in the Library program. The San Mateo County Library serves residents of unincorporated areas and those cities without city libraries which are taxed by the county for library services. The San Mateo County Library is a member of the Peninsula Library System.

Fees for overdue materials range from 15-25¢/day. Printing and copying cost 15¢/page; color copies are 40¢/page. First three printed pages are free. Users owing $15 or more in fines and fees will lose borrowing privileges.
