First Chance Sobering Station is a 24-hour program that serves as an alternative to jail for persons arrested for driving under the influence or public intoxication. Services include housing during the period of inebriation, substance abuse assessment, referral services, and extended case management. First Chance Detox is a 4-bed facility serving clients in all of San Mateo County with substance use disorders, who are actively withdrawing from the effects of alcohol and/or other drugs. Clients are allowed to detox in the comfort of our facility, for approximately 3-7 days. Our facility is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.Location

Service Description:
Provides a drop-off and counseling center for persons who have been arrested for driving under the influence, or being intoxicated in public, or drug abuse. Provides a safe alternative to jail, and includes sleeping facilities, a lounge area and a snack, as well as counseling and education. Program participants can stay up to 18 hours and must be brought in by a police officer or referred from a designated hospital. Facilities include a microwave oven, washer/dryer and donated clothing.Fees:
