Counselors provide legal and resource information over the phone to victims of crime.

Description:

Information and referral service for crime victims and service providers. Counselors give callers information about the California victims compensation program, their rights in the criminal justice process, and civil suits against the person that hurt them as well as responsible third parties. Referrals are also available for counseling and support groups. Referrals are provided to Victim Witness Assistance Programs, Lawyer Referral Services and Legal Assistance Programs, victim services organizations and other local agencies that can provide resources to victims of crime.
